Elarscan was highly appreciated at the Technical University of Varna

At the workshop held at the Technical University of Varna, Bulgaria, experts and university professors appreciated the convenience of the ElarCAN A2 book scanner and discussed using the equipment to create electronic collections, provide distance learning and self-service for students.

The library of Technical University of Varna is a member of the Union of library and information specialists (ULIS) and the Association of University libraries. The library fund contains about 200 000 volumes of specialized literature and of great importance for students and researchers. Access to electronic resources of the University library is provided for readers from all over the country and for overseas users. Director of the library Mrs. Lubov VYLKOVA said: „Modern specialized equipment for digitization of edicational and scientific literature should help us to solve many important tasks. We consider to apply Elarscan for to extend our electronic library, providing readers with digital studying materials. We also discuss the use Elarscans for self-scanning by students“.

The representative of the ELAR in Bulgaria Mrs. Andriana GEORGIEVA demonstrated the scanner in action, told about projects and competences of the ELAR, experiences of Elarscans usage for modern challenges at high edicution. „The combination of features, such as high performance, quality of images and ease of use of the equipment, with budget price generates a real interest of culural institutions in the country, — said Andriana, — Professional equipment, designed by ELAR is based on long experience in digitization projects, it supports our customers for various tasks. From the beginning of 2016 year Elarscans were demonstrated and evaluated at more than 20 universities and libraries in Bulgaria“.
