Large presentation of ElarScan A2 in Stara Zagora
The representative meeting of the Municipality of Starozagorski district of Bulgaria receives a demonstration of the ElarSCAN A2 book scanner. The meeting was attended by experts from municipal administrations, law courts, regional library "Zachary Knyazhesky" , Thracian university, regional Historical museum and museum "Iskra" of Kazanlak city.
The event was organized by ELAR’s partner in Bulgaria, Mrs. Andriana GEORGIEVA and library "Rodina", it was supported by Stara Zagora municipality. The experience of using Elarscans was part of a live discussion about challenges of preserving written and documentary heritage and providing municipal electronic services to citizens. Director of library of "Rodina" Mrs. Slava DRAGANOVA talked about digitization of periodicals: Elarscan was used to scan a collection of "Duma" ("Word") newspapers dated 1926 - 1944 and "Zemia" ("Land") for 1929-1944 years.
Not only for library collections, Elarscan is effective for periodicals, books, manuscripts, conversion of administrative mailing, financial, accounting, archival documents and even for digitizing of museum objects.
"Elarscan is a universal scanner. Besides modern powerful optoelectronics, it has a flexible cradle which is convenient to place tightly bound large foliants, flat sheets, maps and objects. Powerful sensors and built-in software provide high quality images in seconds", - commented Andriana GEORGIEVA. As an outcome of the meeting, she highlighted the interest of cultural institutions and administrative authorities in Elarscan as a very practical and advanced digitizing tool.
